Apple’s NFC Integration in iOS 18
Apple has stated that from the iOS 18 onward, it will directly integrate the modern app store acts of app store laws. Later this year, iPhone clients will be able to carry out NFC contactless transactions strictly via third-party applications. This feature builds upon the NFC features that were earlier launched in the European Union.

Security and Privacy
Apple, therefore, enhances user security and their privacy through this update. NFC transactions will encompass the use of the Secure Element, which is a certified chip for secure information storage and, other exclusive Apple innovation such as Secure Enclave, biometric identification, and Apple servers, to secure user data.
How It Works
Transactions can be started by either opening the app independently or making the app the default contactless app in iOS Settings. In order to approve a transaction, the users will be able to use the side button on their iPhone to make a double click.
Developer Access
To use the new APIs, developers will have to sign a business agreement with Apple, appeal for the NFC and SE entitlement, and, of course, they will be charged fees. This way, only the authorized developers who also have all the qualities required for working in the IT sector and the regulations required for such practice can be able to access the APIs.
Availability
NFC and SE APIs will be available to the developers in Australia, Brazil, Japan, New Zealand, UK, and US in the next seed of iOS 18.1, with other regions to be added in future expansions.
